Intermediate varnish for painting in oil. Glossy; colourless; non-yellowing; fast drying; does not solve justdried oil colours; it is possible to add a final varnish based on mineral spirit at once; the dried varnish layer remains soluble in turpentine substitute (50019).

 

 

Handling

    • Ideal for temporary protection of oil paintings that are not yet finished; smoothes out the dull areas that often occur in oil paintings (matt parts less in binder); also gives tempera undercoats the nature of an oil colour.
    • Spray at room temperature by moving the can from one side to the other and from top to bottom and holding the can at a distance of 30 – 40 cm from the vertically positioned or slightly inclined and completely dry object. (Make the change in spray direction away from the picture!)
    • May only be applied with a suitable varnish brush after the picture surface has dried, i.e. after 4 weeks at the earliest.
    • The dried varnish layer remains soluble in turpentine substitute 50019 over a long period. It is possible to overpaint it with oil colours or add a final varnish based on mineral spirit.
    • Any clogged-up spray heads are best cleaned using acetone.
    • Store in a cool and dry place.
    • Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C (122°F).
    • Individual pre-tests are required.

                  Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source. Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Do not breathe spray. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Call a POISON CENTER if you feel unwell. Protect from sunlight. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50 °C/122 °F. In case of insufficient ventilation and/or through use, explosive/highly flammable mixtures may develop.

                  Other hazards

                  Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.
