Summer motif prints with College® Linol und Schmincke lino mediums

With (self-carved) rubber stamps, but also with classic linocuts, beautiful prints can be produced easily with the College Linol. The 5 colours of the set (84001) are also ideal for mixing many other colours.
You will need:
Schmincke College® Linol (Set - 84001)
Selve-carved rubber plates (e.g. Factis) with summer motifs
Schmincke LINO pearl (50900) for Pearl gloss effects oder Lino Lasur (50902) or LINO gloss (50901)
a roller for colour application
a glass plate for rolling out the lino colours
Schmincke LINO-CLEAN (50903)
Paper for printing (e.g. Hahnemühle Nostalgie)
strong cardboard or a painting board
Spray bottle with water
Version 1: Application of College Linol – Mixing of a violet and the use of lino pearl
College linol is perfectly suited for mixing furthercolours. Mix some red and blue on a glass plate with the roller and you will get a beautiful violet. For a pearl effect, add some lino pearl (50900) and mix it with the roller.
Now you roll the violet-pearl-shade onto the carved rubber plate. Put the printing paper onto the stamp and press it carefully and onto the colour. For an even result, you can use strong cardboard or, as in our example, a painting board. Now you can remove the print carefully.
The best pearl effect can be achieved when using darker colours.
Hint: Dried colour on the glass plate can be reactivated with a little water.
Therefore, you wet the dried colour with a little water using a spray bottle. Now you roll with the roller until the lino colour has got its usual properties. The printing results will be as beautiful as ever.
Version 2: Multicolour prints
An already dried print can easily be overprinted with another (contrasting) colour.

LINO-CLEAN - ideal as cleaning agent for highly soiled lino working tools (printing plates or roller). Fresh colours can be removed with water.
